How my attendance/participation will contribute to my educational experience:
Attending this conference will provide an opportunity for me to receive constructive criticism and improve my research, network with other professionals studying urban-rural interface issues, and gain insight on potential areas for future research. From participating in a poster session I will be able to explain my research project and receive feedback from academics in the same field of study. I will be able to incorporate their advice into improving my journal article for future publication. Networking with other research professionals will contribute to my educational experience by allowing me to meet faculty from which I could possibly pursue my Doctorate degree. For example, I am interested in how land use policies influence ecosystem integrity and Dr. Alberti from the University of Washington has a similar research interest and will be one of the keynote speakers. Information I have gathered from past conference’s presentation schedule positively influences my willingness to participate in this conference because of the plethora of opportunities to learn about emerging issues along the urban-rural interface. In conclusion, by attending this conference I expect to gain knowledge about areas for potential research projects for my future career.

Title and authors of my oral/poster proposed for conference:
